FINLAND OFFICIALLY JOINS NATO
Description
NATO Secretary general Jens Stoltenberg and Finland’s president Sauli Niinisto speak after the ceremony that saw Finland become an official NATO member. The country, which shares a border with Russia, applied to join the military alliance in the wake of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine last year. Russia has warned that it will bolster its defenses if additional NATO troops or equipment are deployed near its joint border.
