Morgan Innovation & Technology Ltd (MIAT) designs, develops and manufactures new products in the medical, defence and commercial industries. In addition to developing our own ideas, we also work with enterprising individuals, universities and hospitals who have ideas they would like to bring to market. Morgan has a unique approach to funding that helps more people bring their ideas to market. Every year the company puts 20% of its turnover towards speculative Research & Development helping individuals, companies and organisations bring their ideas or products to market. We often carry out work free of charge in exchange for a share of its potential. This is a reflection of our passion and our desire to be an enabler.
We know that getting an idea or product to market can be difficult, costly and that it is not always easy to obtain finance. Each idea or approach made to Morgan is regarded as a unique opportunity and the approach or funding we offer will be unique. It could be in the form of a royalty, a licence agreement, a joint venture, a manufacturing agreement, a share of the IP or a combination of these approaches. Our flexibility is the key and further shows our commitment to bringing ideas to market that will make a difference to society.
Morgan IAT will provide you with a professional, innovative service from project initiation all the way through to the product going to market. We use the Stage-Gate process to ensure all-important factors such as market research, costs, client involvement, design and specification; product development and manufacture are taken into account.
We use a vast range of resources and partners to investigate a proposed idea, both technically and commercially. This facilitates a thorough, realistic review of the relevant market, competitive products and existing patents. Once an idea is assessed to be viable a formal specification is completed and a concept model is generated.
These models are rapidly developed using state-of-the-art software, to instantly visualise the final product and to refine the design.
Initial prototypes are developed to test and evaluate the product’s functionality and feasibility. This process highlights the positives and negatives of the design and allows for an early intervention to improve the physical and mechanical attributes of the product. The Morgan IAT production team are involved at the prototype phase to ensure easy transition of a design into production for future manufacture.
