The exhibition will be held on 27 March 2018 Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena and is considered the UK’s leading annual defence procurement and supply chain event.
Appearing at DPRTE 2018 will be The UK Defence Solutions Centre (UKDSC).
UKDSC are an established, independent partnership between the UK Government and the UK Defence Industry seeking to harness the best of UK capability to develop strong capabilities in the business of defence.
Andrew Cunningham, Executive Director – Innovation at the UK Defence Solutions Centre told Defence Online that the opportunity to engage with the local supply chain makes DPRTE a unique event in the defence calendar.
He explains: “This is one of the few events of its kind that is centred in Wales, and provides an opportunity to engage with a range of SMEs based in Wales, as well as being a good opportunity to engage with the wider defence value chain.”
The role of the UKDSC is to focus on the UK prosperity agenda, supporting International defence collaboration from both a government and industry perspective.
The importance of innovation and exportability in the current defence market – both key themes at DPRTE 2018 – looks set to see the task of UKDSC take on greater importance.
Mr Cunningham says: “This is why the Defence Growth Partnership and UKDSC have been at the centre of a number of initiatives in defence focused on prosperity and international collaboration such as CODIFI.”
Mr Cunningham will be speaking at the Technology and Innovation Zone at DPRTE 2018 with the session focussing on Innovation, and in particular the CODIFI and CSIF initiatives.
Attendees will also be able to find UKDSC at the Innovation Zone.
