The US Navy has granted BAE Systems an $85m contract for the production of more Network Tactical Common Data Link (NTCDL) systems.These systems enable real-time exchange of information such as voice, data, imagery, and video across various military platforms.These are currently being integrated into US Navy aircraft carriers and are predicted for installation on the forthcoming Constellation-class frigates.The company notes that NTCDL is a modular, scalable solution that meets all US Navy’s Common Data Link needs, designed to enhance link capacity and adapt to evolving waveforms.NTCDL facilitates multiple, concurrent networked operations using existing CDL equipment and is compatible with future manned and uncrewed assets.The system’s design allows for the simultaneous transmission and reception of intelligence and command and control data, ensuring effective communication and operational advantage.How well do you know your competitors?
