Serco, the provider of services and support to governments internationally, has won two contracts to support serving and retiring US military personnel.
The contracts include careers advice and mental health support for military personnel and veterans, which extends from their initial recruitment, throughout a lifetime of service, to the point at which they transition back into civilian life, and eventually enter the social care system.
These contracts, aligned to Serco’s capabilities in the areas of military recruitment, training, development, health services for serving personnel and programmes to support veterans, demonstrate that militaries across the world can rely on Serco’s support across the full career journey of their forces.
The contracts include:
This contract will see Serco conducting employment readiness workshops, employment counselling, and employer outreach ensuring that Service Members and their families have the necessary career tools and information to successfully transition into the civilian workforce. Work on this contract will support approximately 200,000 transitioning Service Members annually and will be performed at more than 250 US military installations.
In this programme, Serco supports military readiness for Reservists returning from deployments, playing an integral part in providing a “safety-net” for psychological health, in addition to working with Reservists and their families to address their long-term needs in accessing health care services.
Mark Irwin, Group Chief Executive of Serco, said: “Serco has a proud history of supporting the military in multiple countries internationally. We are able to deliver services throughout the entire course of an individual’s military life. From helping governments to recruit the right personnel, to providing them with training, development, and health support during their time in uniform through to providing services which facilitate people leaving the military and adjusting to civilian life.
“I am delighted that, through these contract wins, Serco can strengthen our delivery of service to the US military and its personnel and impact a better future for them.”
