Babcock International Group (Babcock), the defence company, is strengthening its continued commitment to Ukraine’s military by establishing an in-country engineering facility that will deliver engineering support including repair and overhaul for Ukraine’s military vehicles.

In partnership with Ukraine Defence Industries (UDI), Ukraine’s state-owned defence holding company, Babcock will ensure that critical military assets are available when and where they are needed most. Work is underway to establish this new capability and to help ensure that we are able to deliver even more military assets to service, enhancing Ukraine’s defence capabilities.

Babcock already provides the maintenance, repair and asset management for the majority of the British Army’s vehicles and equipment and has been delivering technical and engineering support to Ukraine’s military from the wider region since July 2023.

Babcock Chief Executive Officer, David Lockwood said: “Getting military equipment and assets back to Ukrainian armed forces in the most efficient way possible is why we are making this in-country investment in an armoured vehicle engineering facility. This will enable even faster turn-around times on repair and restoration of critical military assets to the front line.”

Babcock established Babcock Ukraine in 2023 and is already supporting Ukrainian naval assets and training of the next generation of Ukrainian Air Force fighter jet pilots.
