Saab has signed a contract worth around SEK 152 million with the Finnish Defence Forces for the delivery of combat training simulators to supplement the live training solutions already installed with the customer.

The contract includes an upgrade of the Finnish military training facility in Pori brigade and its equipment, as well as other individual types of simulators with eight separate troop units.

The purpose of the products ordered is to continue the use of the training simulators until the end of 2032.

Through innovative use of technology and a well-proven training philosophy, Saab offers training solutions and capabilities enabling interoperability and realism for land forces.

Saab’s offer includes solutions for live training, live fire training, virtual training and training services.

Åsa Thegström, Head of Saab’s business unit Training & Simulation, said: “Our innovative and flexible training solutions will secure Finland’s training capability for the next decade, allowing them to train with the highest degree of realism.”

“This contract provides the Finnish Defence Forces with a further enhanced live training capability, which will enable us to improve the capabilities of the Defence Forces, both within the national border as well as in multinational collaborations with partners,” says Colonel Kari Pietiläinen, Assistant Chief of Staff, Training Division (J7), Defence Command of Finnish Defence Forces.
