DPRTE is pleased to invite the key government minister to deliver this year’s opening address.
The UK’s premier defence procurement event – organised by BiP Solutions – is taking place at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre on May 5.
Held across a single day, the event offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with key personnel and organisations responsible for setting strategy and operationally delivering an annual budget of over £19bn.
As Minister of State for Defence Procurement, Mr Quin is responsible for the Defence Equipment Plan; relations with the defence industry; defence exports; defence science and technology; and defence estates and infrastructure.
The keynote area is one of the focal points of DPRTE, providing visitors with a rare opportunity to hear from those who are actively setting and delivering the direction of the UK’s defence procurement and supply chain strategy.
During the day, high-profile speakers will present on a range of core topics which are defining the future of defence procurement.
And with an additional £16.5bn of spend planned for the defence sector over the next four years, now is the time to engage and collaborate.
Commenting on the Ministry of Defence’s industrial strategy, which was released last year, Mr Quin said: “We must not only ensure that our forces have the right kit and equipment, but that we maintain capabilities on-shore to produce and support critical elements for our national security, and ensure that our supply chains are sustainable and resilient.
“Through targeted investments we can deliver not only the right equipment but can bolster the Union, deliver on levelling up and enhance the skills and prosperity of the United Kingdom.
“As we invest more than £85bn over the next four years in our defence equipment and support, we are determined to deliver not just for our Armed Forces but for the whole of the UK.”
