DPRTE 2021, the UK’s leading defence procurement and supply chain event, is set to host a webinar with official event partners, Dstl and DASA, to provide insight into the significant opportunities available within the MOD’s ongoing Science & Technology supply chain programme.
The live webinar – Innovation in the Defence Procurement Supply Chain – will take place on Thursday 20th May at 2pm and be presented by Andy Caldwell, Head of Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) as well as Prof Andy Bell, Chief Technology Officer at Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).
The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) proactively encourages innovation and is focused on attracting new and non-traditional suppliers into all levels of the defence supply chain.
Dstl is committed to working with a wider range of innovative SMEs. This is underpinned by the SME Searchlight project, set up to attract SMEs and non-traditional defence suppliers.
DASA, which forms part of Dstl, focuses on innovations which can provide advantage to defence and national security to protect the UK from its adversaries. It funds the development of suppliers’ innovative ideas and provides support through to potential application. The Accelerator will also fund innovations for defence and security which support economic growth and prosperity in the UK.
