Nominet will provide a recursive service that is required to handle 15,000 queries per second, as well as both PSN and internet facing authoritative services that are required to handle up to 30,000 zones. Internet queries from the PSN service will also be directed through the Protective Domain Name Service (PDNS), run by Nominet on the NCSC’s behalf, for additional security. PSN is currently used by approximately 500 Government departments.
David Carroll, MD of Nominet NTX said: “Nominet is delighted to be able to offer its resilient DNS service to the PSN. With more than 20 years’ experience at the heart of the internet and unrivalled DNS expertise, it is perfectly placed to offer a solution that is both effective and secure.”
