The contract will see Edgybees’ innovative computer vision technology, in the form of its augmented reality (AR) software solution Argus, integrated with the US Air Force’s systems to bolster situational awareness in complex operational scenarios.
Edgybees is one of 21 small businesses slated to receive four-year, fixed contracts with the combined worth of $550+ million through AFVentures’ Strategic Financing (STRATFI) program, including more than $100 million in Air Force funding, over $100 million in SBIR funds, and more than $350 million in private investment.
The contract follows a round of contracts awarded to Edgybees by AFWERX at the end of last year, including the Phase 2-SBIR, (Small Business Innovation Research) contract, a competitive awards-based program that enables small businesses to explore their technological potential within the defense sector and beyond.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with AFWERX by providing our visual intelligence technology to bolster the functionality of the US Air Force’s existing technologies,” said Adam Kaplan, CEO and co-founder of Edgybees. “Whether it’s manned or unmanned aircrafts, ground control, or software systems, Edgybees will continue to seamlessly integrate its offering into US Air Force technologies to provide them with real-time actionable insights that improve precise decision-making in training and operations.”
Edgybees’ Argus solution provides commanders detailed insight into operational environments by augmenting live video footage with layers of precise, real-time, geospatial information. Edgybees’ solution is facilitating unprecedented situational awareness, efficient planning and clear communication for teams on the ground and in the air.
