This follows the recent award of the Boat Support contract which will draw on Babcock’s experience of providing in-service support to the existing small boat fleet.
Based on a standardised new design, derived from the highly successful Wing P Series of inflatable craft and delivering three role specific variants, Babcock will be responsible for management of the programme as well as provision of in-service support; whilst Wing Henshaw Inc. will build the craft, supported by their UK centre Wing Henshaw.
Sean Donaldson, Managing Director Babcock Energy and Marine, said: “This contract supports critical maritime operations and enables us to embed our proven defence capability.”
Babcock and DE&S are both Event Partners at DPRTE 2020. DPRTE is the UK’s leading annual defence procurement and supply chain event, bringing together over 2000 key decision makers from across the UK’s £20 billion-plus annual defence acquisition and supply chain marketplace.
