Northrop Grumman selected for U.S. Army training support contract

Northrop Grumman has been contracted by the U.S. military to deliver specialist mission training complex capabilities support services fit for the 21st century.

The award win will see Northrop Grumman provide a programme of training support – the creation of simulated exercises in specially built virtual environments, for example – in addition to network security and facility operations.

Crucially, this is a multiple award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, allowing Northrop Grumman to bid for more than $500M worth of orders to operate U.S. Army training centres across the country.

According to Catherine Gridley, Vice President and General Manager of Northrop Grumman Technology Services: “These training centres are critical to meeting the readiness challenge head on. We will continue partnering with the Army to ensure soldiers are prepared for the full range of modern threats.”

The appointment marks the continuation of a three decade long relationship between Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Army to evolve and develop its training needs.

Today’s training scenarios are more realistic and relevant to the contemporary battlefield than ever before, and Northrop Grumman’s immersive virtual environments have helped aid that transformation.

The organisation has helped to train more the 250,000 soldiers in support of the U.S. Army’s Mission Command Training Centre. It has also carried out exercises in service of the Mission Command Training Programme – the U.S. Army’s only globally deployable combat training centre.
