Defence Procurement Minister Harriet Baldwin is to deliver the opening keynote address at next year’s Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability (DPRTE) event.

The confirmation of Ms. Baldwin as a keynote speaker is a major coup for the event, which provides both buyers and suppliers, of all sizes, engaged throughout the defence acquisition supply chain, with an opportunity to enhance knowledge, collaborate, and share best practice and showcase innovation.

In line with the White Paper, ‘National Security Through Technology’, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) are committed to delivering an invigorated, innovative and cost effective global supply chain.

With a hugely diverse set of requirements, across a vast array of goods and services, defence sector spending is valued at over £19 billion annually, making the MoD Britain’s industry’s largest customer, buying everything from military fighting vehicles to education services and all kinds of facilities management services.

DPRTE 2018 will host a range of interactive and educational features, including Live Keynote Arena; Product Showcase Exhibition; Four Knowledge Transfer Zones; Defence Procurement Pavilion; Prime Contractor Engagement Village; MOD Buyer Engagement Village; and Defence Procurement Advice & Support Zone.

The event will take place over a single day at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on 27 March 2018.
