Following hot on the heels of the confirmation that General Sir Nick Carter will speak at the event in London, DSEI have looked from land to air and announced that Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier KCB CBE DFC, Chief of the Air Staff, will also deliver a keynote address this September.
Taking place at the ExCel centre in London, DSEI promises to be the most comprehensive presentation of defence, military aerospace and security capabilities.
The exhibition already boasts a prestigious programme of VIP speakers, including:General Sir Nick Carter KCB CBE DSO ADC Gen, Chief of the General Staff; General Sir Chris Deverell KCB MBE ADC Gen, Commander, Joint Forces Command; and Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB ADC, First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff.
The conference will have an emphasis on aerospace innovation, with several sessions arranged to discuss government and industry collaboration, harnessing technology to increase operational effectiveness and training and retaining a skilled aerospace workforce. The sector will benefit from an Air Capability Conference, due to take place on Monday 11th September as part of the Strategic Conference programme. Examining ‘The Next Generation of Air Capability’, the conference will be chaired by Air Marshall Philip Sturley CB MBE FRAeS and industry expert Howard Wheeldon.
Further Air-based discussions at the exhibition will include: The Future of Military Rotorcraft, with notable rotorcraft journalist, Andrew Drweiga. Delegates can expect to see speakers from Joint Helicopter Command and the Joint Multi-Role (JMR) programme office, US Army and many more.
The Air Zone, fully supported by the Royal Air Force and Joint Helicopter Command, includes a capability area dedicated to the aerospace supply chain. The Zone will host a comprehensive seminar programme focused on procurement, training, export maximisation and promoting opportunities for SMEs.
