Aerotech has invested in the new equipment to improve lead times, making significant time-savings to supplying components from a AS9100 quality controlled environment. The manufacturing contract undertaken involves producing a variety of intricately machined parts, controlled under stringent quality conditions. Investing some £350,000 in a new 5-Axis machine from Doosan, plus a new large co-ordinate measuring machine, will see Aerotech better placed to complete this demanding project.
With over four years experience in this project, supplying some 170 kits, Aerotech will consolidate its position as a precision manufacturer. Aerotech supply the kits to local defence systems company Aish Technologies for further processing onto the final customer, a major defence contractor.
Recognising the level of commitment Aerotech has demonstrated to the project, John Atkins, Sales and Marketing Director at Aish Technologies commented: “We have been delighted with how Aerotech have clearly committed towards this project, and the level of investment they have undertaken to enable them to achieve the project requirements. We are very much looking forward to continuing our excellent relationship with Aerotech in the future, on this and other projects.”
Allan Redfern, Sales Director at Aerotech, also commented: “This project is significant for us as it demonstrates the expertise and capability Aerotech has in delivering precision engineered high quality components to the Defence sector. The investment in new equipment we have made signifies our commitment to not only this project but also in our goal to become one of the UK’s leading precision manufacturing sub-contractors.”
