A new event has been launched by Dstl, which is open to businesses, organisations, innovators and academics.

By collaborating with the Digital Catapult Centre, there is some £100,000 available for research into how automation and machine intelligence can analyse data to enhance decision making in the defence and security sectors.

The Dstl is running a one-day workshop with the Digital Catapult Centre, inviting innovators, academics, businesses and organisations to discuss and generate ideas and solutions and to develop links with suppliers, before submitting proposals. The ‘Pit Stop’ will run in March 2017 providing a secure and creative environment to help accelerate the growth of new ideas.

With systems such as Siri and Google Now being widely used and machine intelligence and data science expected to develop dramatically over the next few years, Dstl are looking to harness this technology to help military and security services make decisions more quickly and effectively

Dstl would like to explore for autonomous data analysis and interpretation, with expertise in:

  • Machine Learning
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine Intelligence
  • Big Data
  • Automation
  • Predictive Analytics
  • Automated planning
  • Autonomous intelligence systems
  • Cognitive science

More details and application forms are available. Places will be allocated to those with the most appropriate skills, expertise, services and products. Applications must be submitted no later than Friday 27 January 2017.

The Pit Stop will take place 2 March 6pm to 9pm and 3 March 9am to 5.30pm at the Digital Catapult Centre, 101 Euston Road, London
