The contract, awarded through the MOD’s Framework Agreement for Technical Support – Design and Engineering (FATS D&E), comprises an initial one-year phase of work valued at £1.2 million, with the potential for this to grow to £3 million as subsequent phases are commenced during the next two years.
The project will create and demonstrate a new decision support system for use by the Royal Navy. The new system will exploit emerging technologies and improved human factors designs to enable better tactical decision-making against increasingly complex air threats.
Andy Whitehead, Divisional Director of Enterprise Solutions and Defence for SCISYS, said: “I am immensely proud of this win, which adds to our reputation for the reliable delivery of innovative R&D for Dstl. This extends SCISYS’ reach into the area of tactical combat systems in surface warships.”
